Pay and Benefits Analyst

FTC: 6 Months initially

Salary: C. £40,000

Hours: Full or part time/4-day week

The role:

We are hiring for a Pay and Benefits Analyst to join a growing org at a time of excitement and change.

Your main role will be to support the Benefits and Payroll responsibilities from other colleagues during the implementation process of a new HR system programme. It will be a varied role requiring ability to complete calculations, manipulate data, work to deadlines and provide technical payroll and benefit expertise.

This role may cover responsibilities from more than one role – Payroll & Benefits Manager, Reward Advisor and Payroll Advisor, including:

1.Benefits

  • Supporting the flexible benefit programme, and answering employee queries
  • Member of the annual benefits renewal project team
  • Process monthly benefits invoices, and support benefit calculations for leavers, sabbaticals and family leave
  • Support communication and engagement program

2.Calculations/Database

  • Support HR team for any benefits queries or payroll calculations
  • Holiday calculations for changes in working patterns and updating database for holiday changes

3.Payroll

  • Managing payroll transactions and processing via the payroll provider
  • Check payroll reports produced by outsourced payroll provider
  • Analysis of payroll data and processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work with Finance team to ensure yearly reporting is carried out on time and in line with HMRCs deadline

Projects involvement will include:

  • Supporting Payroll changes
  • HRIS System implementation (Oracle)
  • Family Friendly policy development
  • Supporting TUPE activity (payroll and benefits aspects)

Ideal experience:

  • Strong numerical reasoning skills, inc. Intermediate – advanced excel: including manipulating data and reporting
  • A good knowledge of payroll and flexible benefits
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a varied audience
  • Payroll experience – including statutory calculations – maternity, family friendly and sickness alongside taxation
  • General reward experience including advising on complex calculations and supporting pay changes processes
