Established in 2008 Williams Kent is a recruitment consultancy specialising in HR & Reward. Well respected in the market and a trusted partner, Williams Kent continues to grow as a highly specialised consultancy that puts candidates and clients first.
I was surprised and positively delighted with how quickly Kevin presented candidates for all four roles I had briefed him on – and importantly, the quality was outstanding. He gave me
a variety of talent in terms of levels, styles and strengths but all were a good use of my time
to interview. I had shortlists within 2-3 weeks of instructions and was at offer stage within a
further 2 weeks. He even scored a 1 candidate to 1 offer and 1 acceptance for one of the
most challenging roles. They really went above and beyond, helping me with candidate
documentation and even job specs themselves to help me move fast. I found Williams-Kent
efficient at arranging interviews and ensuring candidates were properly briefed before
meeting me, and effective at negotiating offers. Ultimately, results are what counts and Williams-Kent have quantifiably delivered on that at every stage of the process, but quality and professionalism is what makes the difference. Although I mostly worked with Kevin, I also was supported by Jade, who was also excellent and responsive, but in conversation with candidates at interview I know that several others were involved behind the scenes and candidates were uniformly positive about their experience. I have found everyone I’ve interacted with to be professional, informed, responsive, objective and supportive. I would have no hesitation in recommending Williams-Kent for mid to senior level HR recruiting – in my experience, they really stand out from their peers in both approach and results.
Vice President Human Resources
We needed to recruit for a HR Reward & MI Manager on a 3 month fixed term contract. This was an urgent requirement and called for a specialist skill set, including experience using Croner Job Evaluation. Therefore we felt that Williams Kent, as a Reward specialist Recruitment Firm, was best placed to fill the brief.
We were very pleased with both the speed of delivery and the quality of CVs that Williams Kent produced and an offer was issued to the successful candidate within two working days.
The contractor that Williams Kent provided us with was able to start immediately and was an excellent fit, both with the needs of the role and with the team. They delivered very successfully against the projects and work that we, at Save the Children, needed within the agreed timescales.
If I had any recruitment needs within the Reward space I would not hesitate to use Williams Kent again.
Head of HR Operations
Kevin was very instrumental in me securing my current role. I was working on a FTC earlier this year and was approached by Kevin regarding several relevant roles that I might be interested in during my job search phase. What stands out about his approach are simple:
He is very proactive and as a candidate I never had to follow up with him for information or feedback.
He genuinely spent time to understand my expectations from the roles and I saw he tried his best to match them before sending me opportunities to discuss (most recruiters in my experience want to sell what they have as oppose to what a candidate wants).
He was never shy in keeping it real as well, as and when it was required I did get a reality check from him. This showed me he had my best interests in mind.
He assisted me in getting hired into my current role in London. I was hired here as a one year FTC but have now been offered to join permanently. He has contributed to my success because he took the time to understand not just the client requirements but also mine and matched them appropriately.
I am very happy to recommend Kevin and Williams Kent to candidates considering a career move as well as to a company/firm, if they were recruiting or growing a team.
Global Mobility Manager
I don’t usually work with exclusive agency remits – all eggs in one basket etc, but I think I am now converted! The benefits I saw were that you knew that we would be dealing only with yourself and as such all effort generated was towards a common goal, this felt much more like a partnership arrangement rather than the ’normal’ agency ‘ relationship’ that I have worked with previously and I much preferred it. Besides which, given your niche expertise in the Reward space, I was confident after meeting with you – and proved right – that you had some excellent candidates that you could present.
What I liked in particular with Kevin was that he really listened to the brief and as such the candidates who we interviewed were well prepared, had very relevant experience to present and were already enthusiastic about our organisation which, given recruitment is a two way process, helped us to ‘land’ the person that we wanted.
On a more personal note, I really enjoyed working with you. You were very responsive and focused on achieving a great outcome both for you and us. Great result, I can’t recommend you and Williams Kent highly enough!
I returned to the UK in February 2016 after living for five years in Switzerland and Matt was put in touch with me by an ex-colleague during my search for a new senior-level role.
At this time, Matt was searching for a Reward Director. During our initial conversations, he took the time to ensure that I fully understood the role, the culture of the organization and the hiring manager. He also took the time to get to know me personally and build a rapport to understand what engages and interests me to ensure that I would be a good cultural fit for the organization.
Throughout the selection and recruitment process, Matt was always in contact with me, letting me know how the process was moving, next steps and timelines. He was one of the few Consultants that I was working with who didn’t require constant nudges to keep me informed.
If all of this sounds a bit stuffy, it wasn’t. Matt has an engaging sense of humour and our conversations were characterised by a good deal of laughter. “They” say that searching for and starting a new role are amongst the most stressful things that you can do. Matt took a lot of the stress out of it by keeping me amused.
I would also say that he took the client relationship above and beyond the call of duty. Outside of the day job, I am also a Fitness Instructor and Matt even attended one of my classes!
Thanks to Matt, I was hired into my new role in May and I would have no hesitation in recommending him and Williams Kent to other candidates.
We first engaged with Matt and the team at Williams Kent when we urgently needed to hire a compensation Analyst. Within a very short timescale we were presented with a list of highly skilled and well matched candidates, we subsequently appointed one within about 48 hours! Since then we’ve worked with them on several assignments in our international HR team, each time they demonstrate a real understanding of their subject expertise as well as provide an enjoyable partnership to work with by taking the time to build a true relationship & understanding of our business. They’re a real credit to the industry & I’d not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for an expert partner to support their recruitment needs.
