Employee Relations Lead (Manager), London, circa £65-£70k

Williams Kent have been retained by a key client to help them hire an Employee Relations subject matter expert (SME).

Role Context
This role is seen as a trusted advisor and problem-solver. The team values your counsel and your ability to frame up issues and identify possible solutions on a variety of employee relations topics. As part of a larger U.S parent company you will be joining a newly formed team of HR SME’s in the UK to partner with the business to help them achieve their business goals and growth plans in the U.K and Internationally.

Knowledge and Experience

* 8 years business facing human resources experience in various disciplines, but Employee Relations or Generalist experience preferred in a population of 500+ employees
* Coaching, influencing and negotiation skills across all levels of business stakeholders
* In-depth knowledge of HR policies and procedures and in employment law
* Involvement with ACAS either through judicial mediation or early conciliation
* Experience of high churn of cases as well as complex ones
* Employee population of technical and sales people would be highly desirable including cases involving commission / bonus payments.
* Problem solving and critical thinking skills
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
* CIPD Qualified
* Previous direct or indirect leadership experience
* Advanced knowledge of human resource legislation and employment laws
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels in a constructive, balanced, and professional manner
* Executive presence and strong presentation ability
* Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
* History of managing change and advising business stakeholders through change
* Proven track record of strong interpersonal skills and good judgment to manage sensitive and confidential matters
* Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities/projects with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines and providing high quality work and service levels
